Seattle Fashion Week (Opening night)

12 Jun

Last night kicked off the beginning of Seattle Fashion Week. This event was held at the Emerald City Trapeze Art Center, complete with a long runway in the center, bar upstairs, and a food truck outside.

We were introduced to several designers’ ready to wear clothing lines. All brought their own distinct style with sophistication and grace. I really enjoyed all of the designs last night.

Ever want to look sexy while working out? BBD Fitness stands for bold, brave and daring and I can see why. This designer combined sexy with fitness to create a look both stylish and fearless. Not afraid to be sexy and bold,  yet remaining tasteful and classy. We saw BBD’s signature line of pants with some new styles of sports bras and tops. Very impressed with this line and hope to buy some new workout clothes from this designer.

Like A Rock star is a men’s clothing line that brings back the 70’s in a way that is fashionable in today’s world. Meant to get in touch with every guy’s inner rock star this line redefines dapper to include rock n roll. Both sophisticated and fun, this designer knows a few things about creating something designed for a rock star. Literally, he has designed clothing for rock-n-roll artists, such as the rock band, the President of the United States of America. This line was one of my favorites.

In my previous post, I interviewed Kate Kinkle at the public preview party and tonight I got a chance to see her clothing line. Previously at the preview party, she told me of her inspiration to create something dark and gothic. This was evident last night, showing us what it means to wear fashion inspired from the 90’s grunge and gothic era. She used sequins, velvet and sheerness with dark colors to create dresses perfect for a night out. They were graceful, sexy, and elegant.

With swimsuit season here, Elizabeth Jane Swimwear was included in tonight’s show. This designer believes every woman deserves to feel beautiful and this comes out in all of her swimsuits. Her swimwear combines sporty with sexy, while accentuating a woman’s positive features. With bright summer colors and stylish patterns, this designer makes going to the beach look very fashionable. These swimsuits are perfect for your next vacation getaway. Surely, you will be admired by all.
